Customize your Pelican Case

Larson packaging company CAN DESIGN A PELICAN CUSTOM CASE FOR MAXIMUM PROTECTION AND EASE OF USE

Our design will take individual account of the fragility of your equipment, the environment it’s going into, and the level of dust, moisture resistance, and protection from shock and vibration that’s required.

Our expert Pelican design team can advise on the most suitable case material and size then help fully customize your case with everything you need to get the job done such as custom foam inserts, lid stays, sub panels, cutouts, casters, locks, purge valves, electronic component integration — even aesthetics choices such as colors, engraving and logos.

The rugged hard-shell construction of the Pelican case protects from external impacts

However, it is the interior that cushions your product and sub-components, keeping them safe from physical and electro-static shock, vibration and, sometimes, abrasion.

Foam is the go-to, but depending on your equipment requirements, you may need shock mounts or even a custom chassis.

Isolate and protect individual parts or sub-assemblies

Obtain tailored anti-shock cushioning for your application

Improve access to equipment through organization

Makes loading and unloading equipment easier

Pelican Case custom foam specialists

Our engineers are experts at determining the type, density, deflection characteristics, and amount of foam cushioning needed to provide the optimal shock and vibration protection.

We work with common and specialty foams such as Ethafoam, cross-linked or beaded polyethene to organize and protect even “class A” surfaces from shock and vibration. The foam is precision cut on our programmable in-house equipment that includes the latest state-of-the-art waterjet cutters.

Not all foam inserts are equal

The type, density, deflection characteristics, and amount of foam cushioning are all important factors to provide the optimal shock and vibration protection for your equipment.

Often the nature of the product will dictate the kind of foam cushioning system with your Pelican case, but the specific type, density, thickness and overall amount of foam should be a combination of judgement, experience, and careful calculations based on performance needs, cost, and presentation.

When cost is an issue, standard foams work well and are easy to fabricate. If appearance and durability or cleanliness are more important, specialty foams can be used because they last longer, have better performance, and have a better look and feel.

Common foam insert case applications

Fleets of returnable cases for sensitive spares or field replaceable units (FRUs)

Mobile measurement, calibration and testing equipment

Lithium battery and electronic device (or other Class 9 Dangerous Goods) separation

Portable field communications and data networking units
